New Month Motivation
October Goals & Rituals
It’s the start of a new month. And what will you do with that?
October is an elite month.
The air starts cooling down.
The leaves are changing color.
Hoodies and flannels are being pulled from your closet.
Gilmore Girls is playing on your TV.
Pumpkin spice makes its appearance.
Halloween movie classics at night.
And so on…
What are you most excited about?
This is a good question to ask ourselves at the start of every month. It helps us stay positive about the future. It pushes us to keep on top of our goals. To make those plans you’ve been talking about.
What would our lives look like if we asked ourselves this question every day?
Would we make a larger effort to make the day a good one? Would we romanticize the small things? Would we find more magic in our everyday lives?
Life is meant to be enjoyed. Now, whether today’s system makes that easy or not is a whole other conversation, but we can’t lose sight of this.
Focusing on the things we love and enjoy is important. Work and other responsibilities can make that difficult, but it’s worth saving room for. We need to be fueled by love, not stress.
I think the start of a new month, season, or year can help remind us of that. It gets us back on track. It’s a gentle nudge towards your goals.
Do you have any first-of-the-month rituals? I’d like to be more consistent with mine, but here’s what I’m doing today:
Rewriting my yearly goals and checking in on my progress
Updating my vision board
Booking my fall weekend activities
Searching Halloween costume inspo
Taking a long nature walk
Picking up that book that’s been sitting on my shelf
What matters to you? What makes you excited? Make it a priority and go get it.
